MISSION STATEMENT
GEMS is created to establish a community of strong Christian young girls, empowering them for life long success by providing spiritual guidance, mentoring and skill building activities to enable girls to reach their full potential.
VISION STATEMENT
GEMS Initiative – Is to become a viable means of ministering to and addressing the needs of girls in the church and in the community.
GEMS Intent – Is to impact the lives of girls from adolescence to adulthood by assisting them in transitioning from girlhood into spiritually mature women.
GEMS Philosophy - Believes that young ladies should be taught to reason and articulate effectively; to recognize and utilize the uniqueness to their God given talents and abilities while celebrating and affirming each other in their journey towards womanhood.
GEMS Objective – Is not to take place of the family unit. It is instead, to support parents in development of our young girls within our church and communities.
GEMS Principles – Are derived from the word of God. Its aim is to present a platform where girls will gain knowledge of the Kingdom of God and its values that will be the empowering force that governs their lives.
GEMS – Emphasizes personal growth by fostering a safe environment where girls can freely express their innermost thoughts and feelings. Establishing bonds of friendship that is based upon mutual trust and respect. Girls will be nurtured and developed into strong individuals capable of leadership and active participation in their communities.
GEMS – Hope to establish a strong community of Christian young women between ages 10 to 14.
GEMS – Whose lives are centered on Christ and have developed spiritually and morally with a clear understanding and acceptance of who they are and whose they are and what they can become.
GEMS – Make decisions based on Kingdom values that can help them transition from girlhood through womanhood to sisterhood,
